Call RxFuncAdd SysLoadFuncs,Rexxutil,SysLoadFuncs
Call SysLoadFuncs
rc=SysSetObjectData(Desktop,'OBJECT_ID=<WP_DESKTOP>')
if rc=1 then say 'All OK.'
else say 'Failed to set the ID.'

Need i say the respons is ">All OK"

Might be "All OK" but it still ain't gonna work unless you get the parameters
right.

rc=SysSetObjectData(Desktop,'OBJECTID=<WP_DESKTOP>;')

Thanks - corrected the script for future use.

Sounds like an incomplete install. IIRC RENDER is supplied by
/usr/X11R6/lib/Xrender.dll.
It's here all right: F:\TOOLS\XFree86\usr\X11R6\lib\Xrender.dll

The path is hit:

<x11env.cmd>

@ECHO OFF
SET X11ROOT=f:\tools\XFree86
SET BEGINLIBPATH=%X11ROOT%\usr\lib;%X11ROOT%\usr\X11R6\lib;
SET PATH=%X11ROOT%\usr\bin;%X11ROOT%\usr\X11R6\bin;%PATH%
SET MANPATH=%X11ROOT%\usr\man;%X11ROOT%\usr\X11R6\man;%MANPATH%
SET LOGNAME=%USER%
SET DISPLAY=localhost:0.0
SET G_FILENAME_ENCODING=CP850
IF $%1$==$$ GOTO DONE
%1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9
EXIT
:DONE

Can I turn on a debug mode of some kind..??

Logfiles..??

Had read that XSetting should be set no higher than 16bit, done that
already to no avail. Then I changed the OS to show 16bit (instead of
24bit, like my camera), BINGO, it's running.

The error is still there though, but doesn't seem to matter.

Cheers!

Are you running in an xsession or on hoblink? The desktop shouldn't
affect a xsession.
It is also possible that the Gimp really wants a newer Xrender, a lot of
development has happened to Xorg which we don't have.

Tried both - looks the same.

Could be that the error is still there, though it looks correct.

I have the same problem with color depth. Had to change OS to 16 bit.
Has anybody come up with a solution?

Pretty easy. HOBLink X11 is X11R5, while Gimp 2.x uses X11R6.x. HOBLink
is not able to provide the render module.
Aha..... How does it show in use..?? Possible to make the versions match
one another..??

That looks familiar. You tend to get this if HOBLink is set to 24bpp.
Try changing the HOBLink settings to 16bpp and restarting it.

Same problem here, but I found the fix for the color depth problem and
you don't have to change the OS to 16 bit color. Which is unacceptable
for me.

Open up Xsettings for HOBLink/2. Goes to the last tab and select USE
DIVE EXTENSIONS.

On the COLOR tab, select AUTO for X color depth.

I select PALETTE MANAGER COLORS, but every time I open the Xsettings
it show System static colors.

But either way now Gimp & Xsane will run when the OS color depth is
set at 16M colors.

Cheers,
