Should be good to use Alt-F2 upon boot (while the white OS/2 string
appears on the upper left corner of the screen), and take note of
what's being loaded when trap occurs.

IIRC Trap 0003 has something to do with interrupt problems.

Try also to use a newer kernel. The latest is the 14.104a release.

No it isn't. It's a breakpoint trap, deliberately put in to catch unhandleable
errors.

May or may not help, given that the trap is apparently in RESOURCE.SYS

Well, given your correction, I agree. Maybe the problem is related to
ACPI?

ACPI?
I have seen this type of things in two cases:

1.) file system on the boot disk is corrupted

2.) \OS2\BOOT\PREVIOUS.DAT is corrupted

For the latter, boot from dikettes or CD and move
the file out of the way.

Put a small one or two byte file in your root drive as in and named:

1-24-03 9:28p 2 29 ALTF2ON.$$$

That's mine on this box from which I'm posting. In later versions of OS/2 this
automatically causes OS/2 to show the items as they pass through the rundown
through the CONFIG.SYS file, letting you get a visual on what driver was last
seen before whomp and stomp on your system! Those two bytes in mine are just
two CHR$(32) spaces in the file.

--> Sleep well; OS2's still awake! ;)

I suspect Rudi's suggestion to delete previous.dat will make the trap go
away.

The trap3 is triggered when the the file can be read, but the content is
unexpected.

I am curious. What is a DI Recorder?

the recorder. It is a Dynamic Instruments digital voice recorder. This
one is used by a local fire dept.
